INTERACTIVE STORYTELLING · RESEARCH LAB

We build games to study how stories get told.

An open lab for AI-assisted, AI-generated, and AI-enhanced interactive fiction — making impossible stories viable, reviving forms the industry forgot, and documenting every step in the open.

[ THESIS ]

At Ometepe, a game is never just a game. It’s a research project — a thesis about what interactive stories can be when generative tools join the table. We don’t make games in a black box, and we don’t hide the AI. We explore, document, and challenge it in the open.

The method

04 / PRINCIPLES
01

Document, don’t obscure

Every project ships with an open research log — where the AI was used, how, and what we chose to leave visible.

02

Tell impossible stories

Some narratives are too ambitious for a tiny team. We use generative tools to keep those stories alive and shippable.

03

Recover lost forms

We revive game styles that lost popularity, study why they faded, and ask what they were quietly good at.

04

Probe new mechanics

We invent and stress-test interactions that only become possible once generative systems sit inside the loop.

Some stories only get told if we’re willing to experiment.

Play the builds, read the logs, and watch us work in the open.
